Devon Places

We have been all over Devon. I love that we can park the car up and use their public transport to go anywhere.

Dawlish and Dawlish Warren are one of my favourite places to visit. We usually park up in Dawlish Warren and then get the train down to Dawlish. Although, the walk along the coastal path is so nice.

Dawlish warren has arcades and shops all along the walk up to the beach. Funny story, Troy asked me to marry him sat on the Dawlish Warren beach front with some of their iconic doughnuts. It was going so well until a seagull swooped in and tried to steal the doughnut in Troys hand, knocking his hat off, resulting in him running off and me being sat defenceless and laughing. The beach is nice though, a bit pebbly, and the sea is lovely.

Dawlish is the town. With so many shops and arcades and a public toilet. We always visit Gays Creamery for cakes and pasties. The beach here is quieter than Dawlish warren and there is a really secluded spot just right of the train station. It has a nice little café here.

They are home to the Black Swans which are protected. They are stunning.

Exeter, Torquay and Paignton are also places we visit when we got to Devon. We celebrated our engagement at the Harvester in Exeter. It seemed fitting as that was the place (Harvester not Exeter) that we met We got to look out over the river and talk about what we wanted for our wedding. This happened during 2020 so there were a lot of restrictions. Torquay is amazing, it has so much shopping there. Again, just to the right of train station (once you’ve crossed the road) there is a secluded little café and beach area that we always go and get coffee from before hitting the shops. Paignton is a typical seaside town, full of little souvenir shops and arcades. I had my belly pierced here when I was 14. I have never been so scared in my life. Wouldn’t let anyone near me after. The restaurant near the beach is no ice and they have a pier with arcades and rides.

The kids used to go to Brixham with their dad yearly and loved it here. Rubi recently went to Beer as well with her friend. She said it was nice there. We do plan to visit more of Devon as its so pretty.
