Life…… Lately
Well, it’s been a few weeks… We have so much gone on!
Troy started his new role at a new company and is loving it. He’s already been on call to Edinburgh and London (at the time of writing this he’s in Blackpool). The working hours are so much better for all of us! It means we actually get to see each other of an evening.
Ellia has had her transition days to High School. She seemed to enjoy them, but only time will tell. We met her teacher, who seems so enthusiastic. Hopefully we see positive things. She went to the Rugby tournament in London with her school, after getting through to the semi-final, they lost but they had a great time. She went to the Ibiza Classics night at Ragley Hall with her bestie and her family and had an amazing night. We did an awesome hairstyle for her.
Layton has decided he would like to give rugby another go after going to a training session with friends. They have said he’s needed for his speed down the wing. You never know, might make him into the next Johnny May! We were very happy to see Owen Farrell back in the Lions squad (well I’m happy about it).
Rubi has recently been trialling for new teams. She has been to Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Stourbridge, trialling for U18’s and Women’s teams. She reluctantly went to Solihull for their Women’s team trial and while she had her reservations, she went and actually really enjoyed herself. After her trial she was approached by two of the coaches. They both said she had great potential, she could probably benefit from a few more years at youth football. They told us they had developed a new under 18’s team with a direct pathway to the Women’s 1st team. She attended their information evening, and the rest is history! Rubi is now 1st Choice goalkeeper for Solihull Moors U18’s! She’s also been asked to be 2nd choice keeper to the Women’s 1st team! Such an amazing achievement at 16! Super proud!
Rubi also attended PROM! The school organised for them to attend ‘The Limes’ which is a venue local to us (my wonderful sister got married here in 2016). Rubi’s dad has a vintage car (Mercedes Gazelle) and was hoping it would be usable to take her in that. But unfortunately, it was not to be. Nana Kez came to the rescue and ask her wonderful Husband-to-be if he would be able to take Rubi in his Mercedes SLK convertible, which he said he’d be honoured to! She wore an Emerald green sequin dress, with her two-tone green Jordans and looked stunning! She had an amazing time, coerced her teachers into getting on the dance floor to ‘Mr Brightside’ and had an awesome time closing that chapter in her life.
Then there is me! Currently being tested for perimenopause! The symptoms are horrendous. But it is what it is. I recently made the decision to leave the company I am currently at. This was a personal decision and does not reflect the company and people I work with as they are all amazing in their own ways. I am joining a company that makes bespoke parts for trains and ships. I am going to be able to progress in my career and eventually finish my AAT qualification to level 4. The decision to leave was difficult, I really enjoy working with the people I work with, but ultimately, I need to choose myself. I leave here at the end of July and start my new role at the beginning of August.
The only really bad thing to happen recently was that in the midst of clearing my company laptop, i was moving stuff across to my USB and somehow managed to permanently delete EVERYTHING! All my AAT work, Pictures, Stuff for this page, Baking recipes and costing, all GONE! Silly goose!
I don’t know when we blinked and skipped 7 months into the year, but here we are. Hoping the next 8 weeks go as quick so Disney can get here quicker!
