Disneyland Paris 2022

This was a little impromptu trip to Disneyland Paris for Troy’s Birthday. We tried to make it a budget friendly as possible. We looked at all travel options and decided Self Drive and Ferry were our best choice. It was £150 return for both of us. We set off at 5am for a 12pm Ferry crossing. We had an amazing crossing with a little pizza lunch on the ferry. For a 9-inch Pizza and 2 bottles of pop it was 12 €. Perfect! Again, we used the motorways and paid 23 € each way for the tolls.

We booked this trip through Attraction Tickets who were the best value for money. Total for the 1 night 2 days trip with half board meal plan and tickets was £417.27 for 2 people.

We had 1 night stay in The Kyriad Hotel in Marne La Vallee – Torcy. The hotel was clean and comfortable after a long day of travelling. The cost of this was £64.05 plus £8.90 local taxes payable at the property. I booked this hotel via Hotels.com.

From here it was only a 12-minute drive to Hotel Santa Fe at Disneyland. I absolutely love the theme here as its CARS. This is Disney’s most budget hotel. We stayed for 1 night 2 days.

We ate at La cantina, for dinner, as this is one of our favourite places to eat and included in our total cost. Only 1 drink is included in the meal plan, so any other drinks would be an additional cost.  This is also where we ate breakfast. They offer Hot buffet and continental breakfast. This includes coffee, tea, orange juice and apple juice.

We managed to see the Christmas season while here and the Christmas tree on Main Street is just something else! Troy wanted to take a decoration from the tree home. The Christmas Parade features SANTA! It was so magical. We loved all the decorations and the ‘snow’ down Main Street. A few rides were closed for maintenance, but this didn’t stop us going on most of our favourites. We utilised our Extra Magic Hours and got on the rides with the highest wait times (Big thunder, Hyperspace, Crushes coaster)

Troy managed to get his Hades Loungefly in the sale at Thunder Messa for 45 €. Never seen a grown man so happy.

Unfortunately, on our last day I managed to twist my knee getting out of Indiana Jones ride and we decided to leave early and get an earlier ferry. Due to it being December when we travelled the ferry crossing was choppy and although we do not suffer with travel sickness there were a lot of queasy travellers as it was a rough crossing. It felt like a very long drive home.

Overall, it was a great trip. It was cheaper than we had previously paid. However, the visit was shorter. Troy had a great birthday celebrating in his favourite place (other than Villa Park)
